"Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe" is a 1974 song written, recorded, and produced by American musician Barry White. Released as the starting time single from his tertiary album, Can't Become Enough (1974), the song topped the The states Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard R&B charts[1] and has since become one of his signature tunes. It was his 2nd U.s.a. nautical chart-topper, after "Honey'due south Theme". It became a gold tape in the US.

White performed this song live on The Midnight Special in 1974, and on Soul Train on May 24, 1975.[ii]

In 1993, the song was covered past American singer, songwriter, and actress Taylor Dayne equally "Tin can't Get Plenty of Your Love". When Dayne submitted her planned third anthology to Arista Records, label president Clive Davis strongly suggested that she remake the Barry White classic to serve as the album's lead single (replacing Dayne'due south pick, the self-penned "I'll Wait" which was the planned title cut; the album's title was amended to Soul Dancing).

Her boisterous delivery occasionally overpowers the instrumentation, though she is ultimately quite effective in conjuring upwardly feelings of nostalgia."[21] Troy J. Augusto from Cashbox described it as a "bouncy cut that recalls, of all things, '70s disco but does and so with enough of the singer's powerful presence to abolish the questionable musical vibe." He added, "Song'south approach is lighter than writer Barry White'south original, orchestrated version just strong delivery from Dayne makes up for lack of depth otherwise apparent in this read of tune."[22] Music author James Masterton said in his weekly UK nautical chart commentary, that "summery soul being the social club of the day and may well give her her first Tiptop 20 hit for five years."[23] James Hamilton from Music Week's RM Dance Update viewed it as "soulful".[24]

A music video was produced to promote the unmarried, featuring Dayne performing in the middle of a dancing crowd of people. The video was later published on Dayne's official YouTube channel in October 2009. It has clustered more than iv,vii million views as of September 2021.[25]

  • The Barry White recording was featured in the films Cookie (1989), Blast from the By (1999), Down to You (2000), Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! (2004), Robots (2005), and 16 Blocks (2006), where the song appeared on the soundtrack and, in the motion-picture show, was heard during the closing credits.
  • The song appears in several episodes of the Pull a fast one on Television serial The Simpsons, including during scenes in "Whacking Twenty-four hours" (April 29, 1993) and "The Concluding Temptation of Homer" (Dec nine, 1993). Barry White was a big fan of The Simpsons. He recorded a version specially for the episode "Whacking Day", in which he also appeared as a guest star. The song besides appeared in the 1994 clip show episode in 1 of the clips at the end.
  • In 1993 Taylor Dayne'south version of the song made an appearance in flavour one, episode 3 of The Nanny, "My Fair Nanny", playing in the background during the afterward part of Maggie'southward party.
